Villatuna History

On April 18,2017, Villa Tuna Republika first branch was established in Butuan City Villa Kananga branch. It was inspired by a former colleague’s business to bring a healthier food option to the market.

 

The change of name from Villa Tuna Republika to Villatuna and overall tranformation has generated a lot of buzz in the local community. Villatuna means home of tuna dishes and named after the humble name of Butuan City’s barangay Villa Kananga. The name change serves as the owners dedication to creating a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for all who visit Villatuna.

 

In the early years, Villatuna focused on establishing its brand and building a loyal customer base. The restaurant’s signature Filipino Tuna homecooked dishes, innovated by our talented chef, attracted people from all walks of life. With a commitment to using fresh, local ingredients, Villatuna has built a reputation for providing high-quality food.

 

In 2021, Villatuna faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With dining restrictions and lockdown measures in place, Villatuna swiftly shifted its focus to takeout and delivery options. It also implemented rigorous safety measures to ensure the well-being of its staff and customers. Despite the adversity, Villatuna persevered and adapted to the changing landscape. It utilized social media platforms to engage with customers and special promotions.

 

As word spread about the Villatuna’s excellent Tuna dishes and customer service, it expanded its operations, opening multiple locations across Mindanao. Each new branch retained the same commitment to food quality, ensuring a consistent dining experience for customers.

 

As the world gradually recovered from the pandemic, Villatuna emerged stronger and more resilient. It continued to evolve, adopting sustainable business system and partnering with local suppliers to support the community.
